I have been quite remiss in my posting lately. I am taking the Lazy Summer Days thing way too literally.
The kids and I have been up to our usual mischief though. We went to the LA Science Center last week. There were THRONGS of people there. (Probably because it is one of the few free things to do in LA). It was difficult to get to some exhibits, but the ones we did see were neat. They have these little kid rooms that you have to be 7 or under to enter. Because they were much less packed and more kid friendly, my kids enjoyed these the best. We also saw Tess (the 60 foot animatronic woman), were in a simulated earthquake, and lifted a pickup truck. Thanks to a very descriptive exhibit on babies, I also got to explain all about human reproduction. That was a little more then I bargained for.
The last couple weeks have mostly been filled with normal summer activities. We've been swimming almost every day, going to various parks, doing summer reading at the library, having friends over, going to the beach, etc. Tyler had tonsillitis this weekend, but it didn't slow us down too much. Other then what the doctor called "impressive" tonsils, he didn't act sick at all. You wouldn't have known he was ill at all except that he talked like Bullwinkle. It was also my birthday so we went to the Kent's house in Camarillo to celebrate. We sure love those guys. They took us to a sweet Pioneer Day Tri Tip dinner and then Rance and Jonathan went to a "manly macho movie" while Kirsten and I watched a chick flick and the kids. I hope you guys got to sleep in Sunday morning. Thanks for a fun visit!
This week is the performance of the Music Man and after that I am going to focus on packing the apartment up. Hopefully, we will find time to squeeze in a few more of LA's unique summer activities. Cheerio for now!
