15 hours driving in the van (both ways) with minimal air conditioning, three grouchy, car sick kids with undersized bladders, ludicrous gas prices, and only one parent. Who knew road rage could be produced by your own passengers? I can now say that I have stopped at almost every exit between here and Idaho for a bathroom break.
I drove the kids to Idaho last week to visit my Mom and brother. When we finally got there, it was loads of fun. The kids swam in the pool everyday. We got to see Kung Fu Panda (which was very funny) and eat out at the restaurant where my mom works. We also BBQed with our awesome cousins and grandma Patterson. Plus, the Millers let us sing very bad karaoke and "drive" poorly on their wii. All-in-all it was a great time. Rance flew up to meet us Friday and Saturday and luckily he brought with him one of those DVD players that you can hook up in the car. I am usually against children vegging out in front of the t.v. for hours and hours. But this time, it may have saved our lives. It is not easy to parent and drive at the same time. Next time, I am flying, and Rance can drive everyone else. (Not that I am bitter or anything.)

Kung Fu Panda is very funny! Bryce and I went last week. I wasn't sure I wanted to see it, but was glad Bryce talked me in to taking him.
We really liked Kung Fu Panda. I don't think we'll be driving ANYWHERE this summer because of gas prices.
Come back! We miss your singing voices!
