Whipped Cream: Happiness in a Can

If you asked Tyler what the most amazing invention of the last century is, he would answer without reservation, that it is whipped cream in a can. Tyler and canned whipped cream met last week, and it was the beginning of a very messy and fattening love affair. I wish I could have captured the look on his face when we first sprayed some on a pie. It was something like awed reverence. Then, we let him try spraying it on the pie all by himself and he laughed with unrestrained mirth for at least 20 minutes. Even now, a week later, it still makes me grin thinking of it.

The absolute best though, was when I showed him that in less couth moments of recklessness, you can spray the whipped cream directly into your mouth--cutting out the middle man altogether. It was one of those perfect moments that capture the joy of childhood--something that is so hard to remember during the stressed-out chaos that is adulthood--but something so essential to true happiness. Diary in the convenience of a spray can. Pure genius...
