Today was a good day

What a pleasant Saturday. We slept in, as much as you can with 3 children. Then we hit the Farmer's market in La Canada. (The n has an ~ over it so it sounds different than the country.) The fruit was clean, fresh and surprisingly as cheap or cheaper than the stuff we get in the grocery stores. The only disappointment was they didn't have those sweet mini doughnuts we always get at the Boise Farmer's Market.

Staying on track here, we then headed north on 2 - the Angeles Crest Highway. You basically climb straight up the mountain and it is pretty steep, even by Idaho standards. There were some cool lookouts that you could see over LA from and there wasn't much traffic at all. That is when I realized I had forgotten my camera. Blast! I need to go back for a sunrise or a sunset.

A nice little drive later we are in Palmdale, where apparently there is nothing else to do so they have a huge mall and tons of box stores. They even have a new/clean Walmart that I wasn't afraid of being knifed in. (In all fairness I have only been to one in LA, but it was bad.) When we were coming out of the store there were 3 hot air balloons out over the desert. It was very pretty. Did I mention I forgot my camera?
