Snapshots of Life in the Patterson Home

As per my usually harried life style, I haven't posted our comings and going in quite awhile. I think this time I am just going to post pictures of some of the highlights and let them do the "talking."
Rance turned one year older, handsomer, and wiser!

The girls completed their science fair projects! I was very impressed by Emma's homemade water filter and the things that it was able to remove from dirty ground water. Laura grew plants in different kinds of light and compared how they grew. (Surprising the one in the dark did grow a little.) And "no," she did not present her project in her swimsuit, she just wanted to wear it when we got home that evening. She informed me that is was the only outfit that coordinated with such ostentatious eyewear.

Do you ever feel like life is kicking you when you are already down? In a freak happening, our shower door literally exploded for no apparent reason. Good thing no one was in the room at the time because glass sprayed everywhere! It sounded like a gun shot and then raining glass shards. I can no longer make jokes about spontaneous combustion because apparently it really does happen.

I have been making little felt hair clippies for the girls in my spare (ha!) time. (a.k.a. when I should be sleeping...) I learned how to do it at church and I can't seem to stop! There are just so many possibilities of shapes and colors.

St. Patrick's Day was surprisingly fun for such an innocuous holiday. Laura is displaying the Leprechaun trap that we made. Unfortunately we didn't catch any wily wee Irishmen, but they did eat the green food we left them in the trap and left us some of their gold coins. They also turned all the potty water in the house green for some reason. The kids loved it!

I don't have a picture for this one, but I find it noteworthy: This weekend Emma hit Laura pretty hard so I told her to go in the time out corner. She looked at me and said, "Why mom? I'm going to be baptized in a few weeks and all my sins will just be washed away." What can you say to that? If God can't punish Emma, can I? Hee hee. I had to laugh at her logic.

Emma lost three teeth in two weeks. Her mouth is full of tongue peek-a-boos and her pockets are full of tooth fairy loot.

Finally, we are planning a day trip to the sand dunes this weekend if the weather is agreeable. If anyone would like to join us in our crazy adventures, call us!

I love the idea of turning the potty water green. I'll bet your kids were surprised!

Emma's such a smart little girl with her baptism comment. I'm glad you included it. I had a little laugh too!

Ha! I love her logic too! Very witty girl, she's got her mama's spunk! Also, those things you made are so cute! Love it!
