Yes Virginia, adults do get ear infections

I don't know where I heard this, but I had always heard that adults don't get ear infections and if they hurt then it is sinus pressure or something of that nature.

I have had ear aches and a sore throat for 2 weeks now and finally went in to the doctor. It turns out that I have an ear infection and now I am on medications to get rid of it. It has been bringing back lots of memories from my childhood. Was I the only one that regularly got ear infections and does anyone remember what mom would put in my ear. I know it was warmed up but it is escaping me what it was.

Since I am finally posting I will tell you that I survived my first tire blow out on the LA freeways. Lots of unseen hands involved I think. It was late so not as much traffic, the car didn't go out of control even though I was doing 80, and someone pulled over to help me change the tire without mugging me or accepting payment for their help. The best part is he pulled a fast lift hydraulic jack out of the trunk of his sedan. So quick poll question, how many of you pack one of these in the trunk of your car? And you call yourselves Boy Scouts.

Rance-
That would be Olive oil that mom would put in your ears. I use it on my kids for those middle of the night ear infections. I have no idea if it actually works, but it at least makes me feel like I'm doing SOMETHING.

Anyway, it seems like dad got ear infections or something because I remember him asking mom to warm him up some Olive Oil.

That is right. I don't know about the actual infection, but it did seem to help with the pain, which was the most important.

I think if I lived in L.A. I might want to be as prepared as the guy with the hydraulic lift. You don't want to be too long on the side of the road changing a tire! To bad Christmas is over...great idea for a gift. That was nice of the guy to stop and help!!
