I don't remember the last time I posted, so I figured I better check in. It is hard to blog when you pretty much work, come back to a literally empty apartment and work some more. What do you talk about? I can't compete without poop stories, or kids going crazy at the store.
I have a baby lizard in my apartment. He comes and goes but I haven't named him or killed him yet. Maybe I could have a poll as to what you would do. Spiders I don't even think about, come here A-rach, here boy. It is amazing how animals just sort of squeeze in to places here. The lab is full of animals, including deer and an occasional cougar. A couple of weeks ago I had dinner at the bishops house and while we were eating a deer was in their back yard chomping on some bushes.
I will try not to tear up, but Expressjet stopped flying, which killed my direct flight out of Ontario, a smaller airport that had cheap parking and easy security. Now I get to begin finding a different solution. My next flight will be with Southwest out of Burbank flying through Oaktown. Twice as expensive and twice as long to fly because of the layover. Four weeks from now is the United direct flight out of LAX. The flight won't be bad, but LAX is probably my least favorite airport on the planet. At least it isn't Southwest out of LAX, even at 4 am there is a long line for security there. You have to give yourself 3 hours for that one.
Yesterday I went out to Camarillo and partied it up with the Kents. They were great hosts and let me yell at the TV when BYU did good, or bad, or just because I wanted to yell. Hans and Juanathon even got in on the action. We blocked the PAT, so ESPN can stuff it. They actually looked like idiots because Locker chucked that thing in the air clear off the wide angle camera, but the commentator sat there and told me he just flipped it over his shoulder. Was he watching it on a 13 inch screen from across the room? And with the penetration we had it didn't matter what angle the kicker was going for. Anyway, the only reason I even care is we beat a 'mighty BCS' team and drop 3 places in the poll. We gained a place by beating a 1AA team and drop 3 by beating a PAC-10 team... makes sense to me.
I am sick today, woke up to a sore throat and stuffy lungs. I really hope I didn't get any of the Kents sick. Well, see you again in 3 months for The Rance Report.
