One of the perks of working at JPL is that sometimes they leave rovers laying around and you can check them out up close.
This is the Mars Science Lab Rover. It is probably 10 times as big as the current rovers cruising around mars right now. (MER) The descent and landing work for this monster must be very intense.
If you want to check it all out for yourself JPL is having their annual open house this Saturday and Sunday. http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.cfm?release=2008-067
If you can't make it, here is a shot of the MSL alone and you can Photoshop yourself in and tell people how cool you are. (It actually doesn't impress in very many groups, but at a Star Trek convention this gives you some serious cred.)
And as for my lack of blogging/bamboozle job that Julie mentioned in her last post, it is just because I am in awe of her awesome vocab skills and feel inadequate posting. Love you babe!

Well, Rance I tried to photoshop myself into the picture with you and the Mars Lab Rover, but my head was bigger than the Rover, so I don't think anyone would believe that I had actually been there. I had to look twice to make sure you didn't just photoshop yourself in it. But with the shadow behind you I think it might be authentic or you are a lot better at picture manipulation than I am.(which isn't saying much)
